Christian monastics and mystics thorough the ages described and practiced a contemplative relationship with God that takes place in a silence deeper than words. Centering prayer offers a method of prayer that opens us to the gift of contemplation. It does not take the place of other prayer and devotions. Rather it may deepen the experience of other forms of worship by offering a way of quieting our faculties and preparing us to be more receptive to God’s presence.
Contemplative Outreach will have a workshop both instructional and experiential at Dunbar Heights United Church – West 24th (at Collingwood) on Saturday, Feb. 4 – 9:00 to 12:30 pm. Continuing sessions begin on Thurs. Feb 9, 16, 23, Mar 1, 8, and 15 at 7:30 – 9:00pm for six weeks.
Total cost is $ 50.00.
